Yellow-throated Warbler

The yellow-throated warbler is a common songbird in north Florida, especially in the Spring and Summer when they are nesting. By late June the young birds are everywhere in the live oak hammocks. These colorful warblers have a distinctive song that the sing all day. The style of this print was inspired by the work of one of my favorite artists, Charley Harper, who was a screen print artist known for his minimalist art deco style with interesting shapes and bright, but balanced, colors. I can only hope to approach his mastery, but I did enjoy making a print in this style and will be making more..
