Roseate Spoonbill

The roseate spoonbill is an iconic bird of Florida. I honestly believe that it should be the state bird of Florida. The style of this print was inspired by the work of one of my favorite artists, Charley Harper, who was a screen print artist known for his minimalist art deco style with interesting shapes and bright, but balanced, colors. I can only hope to approach his mastery, but I did enjoy making a print in this style and will be making more (see 'Yellow-throated Warbler).

Monotype prints for sale are one-of-a-kind and will be annotated without an edition number. Trial and color proofs, when they are offered for sale, will be annotated with title, year, and a chop symbol instead of a signature. Trial and color proofs are going to be different from the limited edition prints.
