Morning Mist

The freshwater springs in north Florida flow out of the aquifer at a constant temperature year-round. During the Winter the water is warmer than the nighttime air, resulting an layer of light misty fog over the spring runs and through the surrounding cypress and tupelo bottomland forests. The fog will burn off quickly just after the sun heats up the morning air. This photo was taken in Manatee Springs State Park in January, 2022.
