Myrtillocactus geometrizans, Blue Myrtle Cactus - A - Tall Panel

Myrtillocactus geometrizans, the blue myrtle cactus, is a large-growing candelabra type found in central Mexico. The species is prized as a landscaping plant because of its size and the shape of its arms. The small white flowers are a nice contrast to the typically showy flowers most cacti display, and the bright blue fruits are also as unique looking as they are delicious. This photograph was taken at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum near Surprise, Arizona, in April, 2023.
